AUTHOR INTERVIEW
What style of writing do you practice?
I write from what I like to believe is a spiritual practice/viewpoint and how it relates to the trials and triumphs of everyday life. How do you select the names of your characters?
I use family names most of the times, other times, I allow my reading group to name characters as a contest with an award. My thirteen-year-old son has named several characters. On an occasion, when I am in a dark mood and need to create a character with an evil heart, I google the character traits. I have a work in progress with an evil mother. Google the demigoddess Lamia 😊 Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
Yes, I read every book review. I love the good ones since they encourage me to continue my writing journey. The bad or constructive ones, I take them to heart, research how to improve in the areas the readers did not enjoy. In addition, I send those reviews to my editor and beta reader and ask them to help me not to make those errors again. However, if someone just doesn’t like the story line or my writing style, I honestly thank them for leaving a review and giving me a chance. How many hours do you spend writing weekly?
My goal is to write fifteen to twenty hours a week. I have a career outside of the home that requires a minimum of fifty hours a week, scheduling my writing between work and family life, often has me missing events on Saturdays to accomplish my writing goal. Do you google yourself?
Yes. It is how I find blogs that have featured my books without contacting me. I also look for any piracy sites that may pop up or anything else that could damage my brand.
