Behind the Pages: Pieces of Us Is Taking Shape

Not every project begins with a plan. Some begin with a feeling, a question, or a quiet idea that refuses to let go. Pieces of Us has been that kind of project.

Over the past several weeks, I have had the privilege of reviewing expressions of interest from writers across different backgrounds, experiences, and storytelling styles. Each voice brought something unique to the table. Some stories carried tenderness. Some reflected heartbreak. Others spoke through themes of healing, faith, second chances, and rediscovery.

Now we are entering an exciting new season.

We are in the process of selecting the co-authors who will become part of Pieces of Us, Book One in The Story of Us anthology series. This project is centered on creating a meaningful collection of Christian fiction relationship stories that explore love, growth, healing, and restoration through authentic storytelling.

At its core, Pieces of Us asks an important question: What happens when love is tested?

Not every relationship story begins with perfect timing or ends with neatly wrapped conclusions. Some relationships carry the weight of disappointment, distance, trust issues, grief, unanswered questions, or life circumstances that reshape everything. Those are the stories this anthology was designed to make room for.

We are seeking stories with emotional depth. Stories where characters wrestle with faith, navigate real challenges, experience growth, and ultimately move toward healing, hope, and transformation. I have often believed that readers connect most deeply with stories that feel honest. Not perfect. Honest. That honesty is what I hope readers will discover throughout this anthology.

What excites me most is knowing that a collection of unique co-author voices will contribute to one larger message. While each story will stand on its own, together they will create a collection reflecting the beauty, complexity, and transformative power of love.

I am also thrilled that our co-authors will participate in a writing workshop led by Kimberla Lawson Roby, an award-winning author, speaker, and podcast host. Her insight and experience will pour into this journey in a meaningful way.

The anthology is also being supported by Atinuke Oladele, who has been instrumental in bringing structure and organization to the process.

As we move into this next chapter, I look forward to introducing you to the selected co-authors, sharing behind-the-scenes moments, and giving you a glimpse into the process as these stories begin taking shape.

The pages are coming together. The stories are forming. And I believe something meaningful is unfolding.

Have you ever participated in an anthology? What was your experience like?
